Liberty was established in Puerto Rico to offer advanced video services to 37 municipalities in the North, East & Central regions of the Island.
2001
1,500-mile fiber ring was developed to help improve the signal quality, expand transmission capability and to offer new bandwidth applications.
First Cable TV company on the Island with a hybrid combination of optic fiber & coaxial cable plant (HFC).
2002
First call ever using VoIP technology.
First cable company in Puerto Rico offering Internet access.
2004
Launched Video On Demand (VOD) Service.
First cable company in Puerto Rico offering telephony service.
2006
First cable company in Puerto Rico offering 100% digital lineup to his customers.
2007
First Video, Internet and Telephony combined offer in Puerto Rico. We invented the term “Triple Play”.
2008
Launched the DOCSIS 2.0 platform.
Started offering 15 Mbps Internet speed.
2009
Liberty’s commercial division, Liberty Business was created and presented to the business community.
2010
Liberty expanded its HD offering to 57 channels, more than any other provider in Puerto Rico.
2011
First Internet provider to offer speeds up to 30 Mbps to its customers.
Liberty expanded the VOD offering, launching HBO On Demand & Cinemax On Demand.
2012
Liberty acquired One Link Communications.
First cable company to offer a 3D Channel in Puerto Rico, for the London Olympics.
2013
Deployed MOCA Multi room DVR.
Network upgraded to DOCSIS 3.0.
2014
Birth of Liberty University.
First Internet Provider to become part of Netflix ISP Speed Index.
Launched Liberty Everywhere, streaming of channel content through an app.
2015
Liberty acquired Choice Cable.
Launched What PR is Watching, channel where customers can see the most watched programming real-time.
Liberty launched mi.libertypr.com, account self-managing tool.
Volunteer Team program, Helping Hands was founded.
2016
Established new central offices at Liberty Tower in Hato Rey.
Began offering 24/7 Customer Service.
Liberty Media relaunched with new branding and image.
2017
Established Liberty Foundation, the non-profit corporate responsibility arm of the company.

Launched U-Pick Packages.
